Ethanol Output in U.S. Fell to 873,000 Barrels a Day, U.S. Says
U.S. ethanol output dropped 1.8 percent last week; inventories slip
Ethanol production in the U.S. fell 1.8 percent to 873,000 barrels a day last week, according to the Energy Department.
Output is at the lowest level since Oct. 7, while stockpiles fell 0.3 percent from to 22.55 million barrels, the first consecutive decline since November, the department said in a report released today in Washington.
Production of conventional gasoline blended with ethanol climbed 0.6 percent to 5.21 million barrels a day, the department said, the highest amount since Dec. 23.
Denatured ethanol for April delivery fell 0.4 cent to $2.281 a gallon yesterday on the Chicago Board of Trade.
